In this world

a big ball of twine

on green grass

warmed by white sun

is actually under a cement roof

hardly sphere at all

and smelly

The World’s Largest Ball of Twine

is a disappointment

Watching you stare at it

sipping your diet soda

having your great ass

I wish I could kiss

every tiny golden hair

on your skin

individually

and later I treat you like

the Jolly Green Giant

of hotel beds

scaling your body with my tongue

worshiping you as a false idol

You’re five foot one

sunburned
and undernourished

but you wear the road

beautifully

Let’s never go home
